PETE PETERSON 1961 - 1985 STATION AGENT FSM DEN 1998 NOT A GOOD YEAR FOR FSM AGENTS- WE LOST RON ROGER IN MAY-98 PETE PETERSON OCT-98 DOYLE WILHITE NOV-98 VIC DAVID FL PILOT DEC-98 SO FAR 1999 OK -Larry Thomas (4/20/99) Pete's real name was Orval but most folks called him Pete. He worked in FSM as an agent for a lot of years and went to DEN when FSM closed. There he worked at the Freight house until he retired a year or so before the Crash. He and his wife both had been ailing. He came to the 1998 FYV/FSM PIGnic and you could tell he was hurting. He was a real nice guy. -Jake Lamkins (4/21/99) Dear Jake, I am Orval (Pete) Peterson's daughter Cathy. He "flew west" as you say on November 3, 1998 at the age of 76. He had battled with several forms of cancer for the past six years and finally succombed to metastatic throat cancer to the liver. I was very proud of him. He started with Central Airlines in March of 1961 and was in Fort Smith from that time until Frontier pulled out in 1984(?) and everyone went to Denver. He retired in November 1985(?) just before the whole thing fell apart. It's hard to believe that he, Ron and Doyle all left us in the same year. The dates that I am unsure of can be verified or corrected by Larry. Thanks for the page. There are several employees that I was familiar with and will enjoy getting info on them. If you need any other info, let me know. Thanks, -Cathy Peterson Bell (4/27/99) OBITUARY Orval C. "Pete" Peterson, 76, Fort Smith, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in his home. Post your remembrances. -Jake Lamkins (10/22/09) Thanks for the updates. It looks wonderful. You have no idea how much I miss my father. He truly was a great man. We lost Mother on February 8, 2008. She was so lonely without him. Now they are together again - holding hands and smiling those precious smiles I miss so much. Take care and keep me updated. Will send this to the rest of the family. -Cathy Peterson Bell (10/29/09) FLacebook - FL Club FSM DEN station agent Pete Peterson's memorial webpage has been updated: http://LAMKINS.tripod.com/Pete_Peterson1.html I knew Pete many years and he was a terrific guy. -Jake Lamkins (10/31/15) Thanks so much for sending the update. It is so hard to believe he has been gone these 17 yrs. His great grandson was born in that spring...only way I can remember. Tyler is so much like Dad. A much bigger man in size but has his temperament, smile, and I pray his devotion to family and friends. He already is developing a work ethic. I think Pete's spirit lives in him. I am a very proud aunt of this young man. Headed to college next year. As a side note...Pete's son, Oran, that is mentioned coming home from Vietnam, passed away in March 2011. Thank you again for remembering my father. He was a good man. -Cathy Peterson Bell (11/1/15) FLacebook FLIGHT WEST UPDATED Frontier Memorial Webpage PETE PETERSON 1961 - 1985 STATION AGENT FSM DEN http://LAMKINS.tripod.com/Pete_Peterson1.html Several items added and the webpage updated.
