JAMES WEDSTEAD James' wife called me a few minutes ago. James is in the hospital in Oregon and will undergo surgery tomorrow for a blood clot in his head. About a month ago, James had a leg amputated below the knee due to diabetes. A few days after getting home, his "Rascal", the power chair he uses, flipped over backwards as he was going up a ramp at home. He didn't think he was seriously hurt outside of a cracked rib and some bruises. However, as time went on, he suffered headaches, nausea, and they discovered this morning that he has two blood clots, one on each side of his head. They are going to operate on him in the morning (November 13th) at 8AM PST. According to Mary, his wife, this is a very serious operation and could be life threatening. I just called and talked to James. He is in pretty good spirits and seemed to cheer up quite a bit during our phone visit. If you want to call him, there is a toll free number. That number is 1-800-944-7073. He is in room 2229. I know he would be thrilled to hear from his classmates. James is a 1960 graduate. -Michael Drain (11/12/03) I just finished talking to Mary, James' wife, and James came through the surgery with flying colors. He is in ICU and will remain there for at least 24 hours. For right now, everything looks good. Mary said she wasn't sure if James would be in the same room or not when -Michael Drain (11/13/03) Facebook: Michael Drain posted on your timeline "Bill, Just to let you know that James Wedsted passed away on January 31st in Medford Oregon.
