JIMMIE RAE DAVIDSON BERRY MALVERN ARKANSAS HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1960 Hi, Bill. Jimmie Berry (formerly Jimmie Rae Davidson when we were in Malvern High School) It has been since 1960 since I last saw you and now we live not too far apart. I've been in Fort Smith since 1990. How are you doing? Ann Fite told me to contact you on Facebook and it is a pleasure to be back in touch although I don't spend much time on Facebook. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Going to the renumion this year? I don't know if we will try to make it but time will tell. Let me know how you are doing. It will be good to hear from you. -Jimmie Berry (8/30/10) Hi Jimmie Rae, Great hearing from you and hope you are well. I'm planning to go to the reunion. Hope you will too - would be a treat to see you. I've been in Fayetteville since 1964 when I got out of the Air Force except for a few absences due to work. I've been retired since 2003 and really enjoy it. -Bill Lamkins (8/30/10) I moved to Fort Smith in 1990 to take a job with the 188th Fighter Wing here. Retired in 2006 but wish I was still there. I loved it. I stayed with them for 16 years and that is how I met my second husband of almost five years now. I have one son and two grandsons still living in the Malvern area. I am so happy to hear from you, Billy. I'm uncertain about the reunion right now but I'll keep in touch and hope you do the same. -Jimmie Berry (8/31/10) Billy, I'm sorry to tell you that I have found only two of the photos I promised to send to you. They are attached. Thank you for keeping the website. I love to watch it for news. -Jimmy Berry (10/16/10) Thanks, Jimmie. What date is the Honor Society pic? -Bill Lamkins (10/16/10) I think it was the 9th grade. Maybe the 10th. I'll try to look it up and let you know. -Jimmy Berry (10/17/10) Good morning, Bill. I have a question for you that I have been wanting to ask for a while. The night we graduated, as I was getting into my dad's truck to leave, did you come by and kiss me? I think it was you but I'm not certain. Thanks, -Jimmie Berry (10/30/10) No, Jimmie, unfortunately it was not me who kissed you graduation night. I certainly would have loved to - I had a terrible crush on you all through high school. However, I spent only the first month or so of our senior year in Malvern. Then we moved (again) and I finished the year in Memphis where I graduated from Memphis Tech on May 28, 1960. -Bill Lamkins (10/30/10) You are so sweet. I never knew anyone liked me. Hardly anyone ever asked me out. I was Malvern High's original wall flower. You should have said something. I guess I'll keep looking for the answer to my mystery. He favored you quite a lot as I recall. Have any suggestions about who it might have been? Thank you, Bill. -Jimmie Berry (10/30/10) Life is full of mysteries. Had I a car, more self-confidence and not such an unsettled home life back then, I might have said something and both our lives turned out totally different. I'm sure you weren't asked out more because guys were intimidated by your beauty and their assumption you had tons of admirers already and they didn't have a chance. Strangely, that happens a lot to beautiful women. No suggestions on who it might have been. Bill Lamkins (10/30/10) Posted at MHS1960 Class @ Facebook Does anyone have an old picture showing the stairs at the back of the school house? They were on each side and they led up to the second floor. My memory is of very steep, narrow steps. I used to have dreams about missing a step and falling down them. I would love to see a photo showing them, perhaps in the background of a photo. -Jimmy Berry (6/13/11) Basketball Homecoming in Gym 1960 Bill, I ran across this snapshot of the 1960 Basketball Homecoming. It was taken in the gym that night and is not a very super photo....you might not want to post it. I always watch for photos that I think you might want to see. Let me know if you are full-up. My best to you. -Jimmie Berry (7/17/11) Hi Jimmie, Thanks for the pic. Can you ID all the lovelies? I recognize you at the top. Is that Janice Rosewell at the bottom on the left? Regards, -Bill Lamkins (7/17/11) Another classmate has died. Lavern Greeno died. Jimmie Berry commented on your post in Malvern Arkansas Class Of 1960. I remember Laverne very well. She was so shy. She walked in the same direction home as I took from school and I talked to her a few times but she didn't have too much to say. I think she was a very nice person. Gosh, Bill. Have you checked your pulse lately? Are you feeling okay? We have lost so many people. You know, I don't think about being old so much....that happens to other people. ha Know what I mean? All the deaths we are experiencing really brings our own mortality home to us, doesn't it. Jimmie Berry (7/23/11) The deaths in our class are extraordinary considering we never had more than two in one year until last December and now we have had eight in as many months. I'm reminded of my mortality too almost daily. Not so much from our class as from the websites and newsletters I do for the employees of my old employer, the original Frontier Airlines, which went bankrupt in 1986. Most of our pilots and mechanics came from the WWII era so there have been many losses there. And there seem to be many early deaths throughout the group. Most of them I know from my many years as a union officer at Frontier. Take a look at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Obits.html to see what I mean. Anyway, I'm thankful for every day. Bill (7/23/11) Bill, I'm attaching a photo of Jerry Don Jacobs taken at a track meet at Malvern High School in 1957. I can actually remember taking this photo. He is sitting on the rail looking over his shoulder at me as I take the picture. Also a school photo of Janice Rosewell labeled Malvern Elementary School Days 1948 - 49. No mistaking that face. She was a doll. I have located some other pictures also that others may find fun to look over. I will try to identify everyone in them that I can before I send them to you. My best to you. -Jimmie Berry (10/11/11) Thanks very much. I posted Janice's pic at her memorial webpage. http://Malvern1960.tripod.com/Janice_Rosewell.html Bill (10/13/11) Subject: Checking in Hope you're thriving. I retired 9 years ago last week. It's been great. -Bill Lamkins (5/22/12) Re: Checking in THANK YOU, BILL. I HAVE BEEN RETIRED FOR ALMOST SEVEN YEARS NOW AND I LOVE IT ALSO. -Jimmie Berry (5/23/12) Dear Jimmie, I was saddened today to learn of your loss last March. My heartfelt condolences and sympathy. -Bill Lamkins (5/29/12) Thank you, Bill. -Jimmie Berry (5/30/12) Hi Jimmie, Got to thinking about you today when I was working on Jimmy Cunningham's memorial webpage.
